Treasurer (Finance Director)

Open Arms Patient Advocacy is a non-profit organization that provides free advocacy support for Albertans and their families who may be struggling with healthcare matters. We empower individuals to have a voice, and offer guidance, resources, and support to help navigate our challenging healthcare system.

We are currently looking for an Alberta-based Treasurer on our Board of Directors! The roles and responsibilities for this position are outlined below. Only selected candidates will be contacted for an interview, but we thank all applicants for their interest in supporting our mission!

Role and Responsibilities: 

- Report monthly expenses and current budget at board meetings.  
- Upload all receipts and invoices to SharePoint with appropriate labeling.   
- Pay all expenses and ensure reimbursements to volunteers are issued in a timely manner.   
- Manage all bank accounts, including collecting and depositing revenues.  
- Ensure financial statements are audited by two board members prior to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in accordance with the Alberta Societies Act.  
- Present audited year-end financial reports at the AGM.   
- Complete all required financial reporting to Service Alberta and AGLC. 
- Support fundraising efforts in collaboration with the Fundraising Director, including grants, scholarships, silent auctions, etc.
