Role Overview
The Volunteer Robotics Instructor (FRC) supports students in designing, building, programming, and competing with an FRC robot. This role focuses on hands-on instruction, technical guidance, and fostering a safe, inclusive, and professional learning environment for youth.
Key Responsibilities
Mentor students in FRC-related areas such as:
-Mechanical design & fabrication
-Electrical systems & wiring
-Business, Outreach, Finance
-Programming (Java / WPILib preferred)
-CAD and design strategy
-Support students during build season
-Help students troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, or software issues
-Collaborate with other mentors, instructors, and team leads
-Support competition days, events, and team logistics when available
Qualifications (Preferred)]
Background in engineering, robotics, computer science, trades, business, or related fields
Comfortable working with youth in a collaborative, educational setting
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to commit consistently during the season
