Volunteer Grants Manager (Part-Time)

Position Summary The Volunteer Grants Manager (Part-Time) plays an important role in strengthening Re-Imagine Ontario’s grant funding capacity. This volunteer will support grant writing, research, and proposal development, working closely with senior leadership to help secure funding. This role is ideal for a retired professional, grant writer, university student taking similar studies, or nonprofit professional seeking to contribute expertise, or gain new nonprofit experience. The position is primarily remote with time Commitment: Minimum. 5–6 hours per week (flexible). It reports to the Executive Director or Finance & Operations Lead. Organization Summary Re-Imagine Ontario (RiO) is an incorporated and registered charitable organization whose mission is to improve the health, education and employment of vulnerable people, with particular focus on isolated seniors and Black youth. The Role: Key Responsibilities: Grant Research: • Research government, foundation, and corporate grant opportunities aligned with RiO’s programs. • Maintain list of eligible grants and key application deadlines • Maintain a grants pipeline and calendar of deadlines and reporting requirements. • Assist leadership in assessing grant fit and funding readiness. • Assist with grant writing by working with program and finance leads to compile budgets, narratives, and supporting documents. Funder Reporting & Compliance • Assist with interim and final grant reports, including outcomes and financial summaries. • Track deliverables and reporting deadlines of each funder • Assist with documentation and record-keeping for audits or funder reviews. Collaboration & Capacity Building • Collaborate with staff and volunteers to gather program data and success stories. • Help design or improve internal grant templates, trackers, and standard responses. • Share grant-writing best practices with the RiO team. Qualifications & Skills: • 1-2 years experience in grant writing, fundraising, nonprofit management, or public sector funding • Familiarity with government grants, foundations, corporate, or individual funding • Strong written communication and editing skills. • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
