Make-A-Wish Canada - Heroes Challenge Edmonton

Make-A-Wish Canada's Heroes Challenge Edmonton - presented by West Edmonton Mall Toyota is a fun and unique team-building experience where participants swap their everyday business attire for superhero suits as they team up with a wish child to create their very own Superhero Squad to compete in 'challenges' all around the mall! We are looking for volunteers for various roles to help make this event a 'super' success!

Event Details:
Date: Thursday April 30, 2026
Location: West Edmonton Mall - 8882 170 St NW, Edmonton, AB T5T 4J2 (Meet on Lower Level - Phase 1 Center Stage)
Shift Times:
Registration: 8:00am - 11:00am
Challenge Supervisors 10:00am - 3:30pm
Volunteers must be 18+ to support this event.

Volunteer Roles:
- Registration: High volume event - checking in attendees and wish families, making sure waivers are completed, handing out capes and wristbands etc.
- Challenge Supervisors: explaining and running challenges as needed, recording scores, handing out instructions (all training will be provided to you in advance by staff)

To Wear: Casual and comfortable clothes and shoes - MAW t-shirt if you have one, if not a volunteer apron will be provided. 

Other Info:
* Booster Juice, lunch, and snacks will be provided. All volunteers are welcome to stay for an ice cream wrap up party from 3:30pm-4:30pm!
* Location is accessible by transit and parking is available on site.
* Virtual training sessions will be offered prior to the event date as well as written instructions provided day of.
